No Sales to Kansas as of October 1, 2019

As of October 1, 2019 new sales tax requirements take effect in the state of Kansas that require all online transactions to be taxed. Many states have started collecting taxes on online sales, but all states except Kansas have a minimum sales threshold before this requirement takes effect.

Unlike other states that recognize the undue burden it would place on very small businesses to collect sales taxes across multiple states when a business does not have a large sales volume, Kansas has intentionally chosen not to exempt small businesses from this requirement. Unfortunately, we have determined that the administrative costs to comply with this regulation would cause us to only lose money on sales to Kansas. Therefore, we are opting to suspend sales to Kansas unless or until the Kansas legislature decides to put in place a reasonable sales threshold.

If you live in Kansas and care about having the option to buy from super small businesses like us, please contact the Kansas legislature and ask them to implement a minimum sales threshold on taxing online sales.
